When choosing a red lipstick, you just want to remember to get one that looks good with your undertone. If you have a warm undertone, then go for warmer reds, and if you have a cool undertone, then go cooler.
A good lipstick, liner, and gloss combination will help create the illusion of fuller lips. Apply a pink-toned lipstick, followed by a lip liner slightly darker than the lipstick, (you can even apply just outside the lip line to make them look even fuller) and top off with a light-reflecting gloss.
Just like liquid foundation needs to be set with a powder, a bit of powder on top of your lipstick keeps it from moving out of place. Place a small amount with your index finger onto lips, smack them together to rub it in. You do not want the powder to show so use very little.
